In 2024, the Ningpo Guild Singapore proudly embraces the theme of Diversity and Inclusion. Our mission is to reflect and celebrate the rich diversity within our membership and the wider community.
ACTIVITY
This year, we’ve launched our Diversity and Inclusion community project, supported by a grant from the MCCY. Our goal is to foster multi-generational participation and engage individuals from various backgrounds, races, and nationalities.
We aim to showcase how Singapore’s cultural landscape has evolved and continues to grow in its inclusivity. Through this programme, we hope to provide an enriching experience that highlights our shared heritage and offers opportunities for lifelong learning.
CREATIVITY WITH STORYTELLINGÂ
Master the Art of Storytelling with Mobile Apps
Unleash your creativity in our hands-on storytelling workshop! Learn essential mobile storytelling techniques including storyboarding, using subtitles, filters, effects, overlays, and adding the perfect soundtrack. Led by industry experts from Vitamin M, this workshop will equip you with skills to capture and share the vibrant stories around you.
Explore Bugis & Waterloo Street: A Cultural Journey
Put your new storytelling skills to work on a guided tour through Bugis and Waterloo Street. Discover the rich cultural heritage of these areas, from their historical roots to their modern-day significance. Experience how diverse communities have shaped the vibrant character of these neighborhoods.
NINGBONESE CULINARY & CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
Conclude your adventure with a visit to the 57-year-old Ningpo Guild Singapore. Sample authentic Ningbonese snacks and learn about our mission to embrace diversity and inclusion. This experience offers more than just a taste of tradition—it’s a chance to connect with a piece of living history and explore the Guild’s commitment to cultural diversity.

Storytelling Workshop:
- Kick off with a workshop led by Vitamin M. Discover storytelling techniques to enhance your mobile videos with filters, effects, and music.
Discovery Tour:
- Follow up with a guided tour of Bras Basah.Bugis. Explore the history and cultural diversity of Waterloo Street and Bugis, and learn about the contributions of different communities to Singapore’s heritage.
Culinary Experience:
- Return to the Ningpo Guild Singapore for lunch complemented by traditional Ningbonese snacks. Enjoy authentic snacks, view historical photos and artifacts, and hear about the Guild’s diversity and inclusion initiatives.
